Leland Limited, Inc. aka Leland Gas Technologies began manufacturing and distribution back in the mid 1960’s.
The preceding pages represent products we offer direct to you. But to be clear, our prices may be higher than one of our distribution partners. We are not a large company with free freight and instant delivery. We have consolidated our distribution centers to our US east coast facility.
We do not outsource our customer service. If you call, we will answer. If you get voice mail, we will call back. If you send an email, we will answer.
Packaged gases and related gas handling equipment have been the focus to this day.
About Leland
Today at our South Plainfield New Jersey Plant, Leland processes millions of disposable gas filled cylinders and assembles and tests dozens of products for use in the aerospace, medical, beverage and safety industries. Leland History
Leland Industries was established in July, 1964 by Mr. George A. Stanford and Mr. Carl H. Sollmann. Their principle business was to manufacture soda syphons, cream whippers for home use and purchase and distribute small high pressure gas filled cylinders to the aerospace industry and military. Before starting Leland, they were already deep in the markets working the trade show circuit for Kidde Manufacturing in Bloomfield.
As Kidde was peaking in the consumer products area, the Kidde family pulled the plug on the Belleville NJ manufacturing lines. Sollmann and Stanford knew what they needed to do; as they had already spent years developing products for their customers to benefit from. Now they had to pull together what they knew; George Stanford, the Marketing Man and Carl Sollmann, the Engineer one powerful collaboration. Sollmann was an enthusiastic student of Japan and its culture. His engineering background and love of those curious Japanese empowered him to put many interesting products into the pipeline. Considering that packaging gases into disposable containers was his specialty, and his career as President of Manufacturing at Kidde had ended, "not only were products designed, but they were often works of art that could be mass produced.

Circa 1963. George Stanford (right) knew the value of long term relationships and always made everyone feel welcome and important. He his standing with Vaughn Alexander, then President of WT Grant (middle) a huge retail player back in the day.
Kidde made a lot of things including gas cartridges and cream whippers and even seltzer bottles. This late 1950’s picture is a trade show both for Kidde exhibiting at the National Restaurant Association show in Chicago at the Navy Pier, before Mc Cormick place was even built. Something the military loved to do was to show off their planes. Photo shoots were common place for him and he knew what people wanted to see.

As the consumer markets were growing post war, George Stanford finished his military service in the US Air Force Reserve. He was a natural at marketing and the military need that.

Leland’s headquarters in South Plainfield, New Jersey
has expanded over the years. But Leland has always been in South Plainfield and very much enjoys being a part of that community.

Leland Limited Inc. has been in the packaged gas business since 1965. Based in New Jersey, they have built their worldwide business on honest, fair and sustainable trade practices. Ensuring that recyclable steel is used for all their gas filled products has been a trademark effort; embracing a goal towards a lower carbon footprint.
Although a small business by many industry standards, Leland is responsible for hundreds of millions of gas cartridges in commerce each year. It is equally important that their leadership has taken an active role in ensuring recycling efforts for their products.

Sizes
Leland has developed packaged gas products from 1.0ml to 2.2 liters of water capacity. Our ability to design and deliver is unmatched in this segment of non-refillable cartridges and cylinders.
Steel bodies of all sizes are utilized to safely hold high pressure gases. Our design process often begins with the requirements of the program with respect to the outside diameter. From there, we work with our customer to develop the most suitable gas package for their program.

Providing gases and their application so as to enrich life and further science
Learning about gases is fundamental in most university science learning labs. Leland believes that starting this process in high school is very important. Leland offers many institutions the opportunity to utilize small gas cartridges for experimentation and teaching.
